Work Commences for the First Day on
Site With Bishop and Synod Ministers
The house at 1009 1st St. SW
is full of volunteers today, including Bishop Harold Usgaard and synod
ministers Pastor Audree Catalano and Larry Iverson. Trent Fluegel, Executive
Director of the Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity, eagerly pointed out
many ongoing projects in the house. Among them are the front porch, which
will be completely redone; a new garage, which right now is outlined in the
back yard with walls sitting nearby, waiting to be put together once the
concrete is poured later today; windows that will be knocked out and
replaced; carpet that is being ripped up; and plaster on the basement walls
which needs to be chipped away. The walls for the garage were assembled by
people from the Red Wing Correctional Facility and shipped to the site.
