2004 Synod Assembly
Resolution 2004:07: The Strategic
Plan for the Southeastern Minnesota Synod, 2005-2007
Passed
WHEREAS, a majority of the
congregations of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod participated in the Called
into God's Marvelous Light survey during Advent 2003; and
WHEREAS, more than 5500
surveys were received; and
WHEREAS, a group of 45 people
from around the synod read all of the surveys and developed visions and
goals of the strategic plan based on those surveys; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Usgaard, the
Synod Council and the Bishop's staff have developed objectives for the
strategic plan based on the results of those surveys;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that
the Southeastern Minnesota Synod at its 2004 Assembly enthusiastically adopt
the strategic plan Called into God's Marvelous Light as printed on Exhibit
1*; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that
the Southeastern Minnesota Synod at its 2004 Assembly requests congregations
and members to support the strategic plan by participating in the programs
in 2005-2007; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that
the Southeastern Minnesota Synod at its 2004 Assembly requests congregations
and members to stand ready to support the strategic plan with the financial
resources needed to accomplish the goals and objectives of the strategic
plan.

statements and goals of the strategic plan. Exhibit 2 outlines the
objectives of the plan – what will be done, when it will be accomplished,
who is responsible and to which vision statement it relates.
