2004 Synod Assembly

Resolution 2004-08: Invitation to Bishop Sijifredo Buitrago, IELCO

Passed

WHEREAS, the Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America continues to thank God for its companion synod relationship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia (IELCO); and

WHEREAS, the Southeastern Minnesota Synod seeks to strengthen its relationship with IELCO through exchange visits and conversation; and

WHEREAS, IELCO has recently elected Rev. Sijifredo Buitrago as their new bishop;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Southeastern Minnesota Synod, ELCA celebrates with IELCO the election of its new bishop; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Southeastern Minnesota Synod, ELCA invite Bishop Sijifredo Buitrago to attend the 2005 Southeastern Minnesota Synod Assembly.
