Resolution 2005-08:

New Ministry Emphasis Sunday

Passed

WHEREAS, a tradition has been established in the Southeastern Minnesota Synod to set a date for an annual New Ministry Emphasis Sunday; and

WHEREAS, Glory to God, Rochester and Rejoice!, Northfield are new ministry starts in the Southeastern Minnesota Synod;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that every congregation of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod be encouraged to participate in New Ministry Emphasis Sunday on Transfiguration Sunday 2006 (February 26, 2006), or on another Sunday during the year; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a special offering be gathered that day in support of the synod's new ministry starts; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mission Planning & Action Team of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod will allocate the offering received among the new ministry starts according to their needs.
