Lutheran Social Service Servant of
Christ Award
Ascension, Albert Lea
This congregation has been
an active participant in and supporter of disaster services. Lutheran
Disaster Response staff set up operations in their facility during the
recent flooding in Southeastern Minnesota. The Award has not lifted up this
area of support since the Award was first presented in 1998. Ascension's
exemplary work in this cooperative ministry again this year stands out as
deserving of recognition and as a reminder to Lutherans around the state of
how we offer extraordinary care for our neighbors when the needs are great.
Ascension also gives $1,000 a year in undesignated support.
