2006 Synod Assembly

Resolution 2006-01:

New Ministry Emphasis Sunday

Passed

1          Whereas, a tradition has been
2                      established in the Southeastern
3                      Minnesota Synod to set a date for 4                      an annual New Ministry Emphasis
5                      Sunday; and

6          Whereas, Glory to God, Rochester
7                      and Rejoice! Northfield are new
8                      ministry starts in the Southeastern
9                      Minnesota Synod;

10        Therefore be it resolved,
11                    that every congregation of the
12                    Southeastern Minnesota Synod be
13                    encouraged to participate in New
14                    Ministry Emphasis Sunday on
15                    Transfiguration Sunday 2007
16                    (February 18, 2007), or on another
17                    Sunday during the year; and

18        Be it further resolved, that
19                    special offering be gathered that
20                    day in support of the synod’s new
21                    ministry starts; and

22        Be it further resolved, that
23                    the Mission Planning & Action
24                    Team of the Southeastern
25                    Minnesota Synod will allocate the
26                    offering received among the new
27                    ministry starts according to their
28                    needs.
