The Lutheran Magazine
The Lutheran magazine
is a publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Each
month it provides readers with a wide range of informational and
inspirational stories from throughout the ELCA. Many congregations
throughout the country provide their members with subscriptions to the
magazine while other members choose to subscribe on their own.
The Lutheran boasts the
largest circulation of any religious denomination magazine. For those who
are a part of that readership, it has been shown that they feel more
connectivity with the larger church than those who do not read the magazine.
By reading more about faith, ministries, issues, academics, and more that
are occurring within the ELCA, readers see what is happening beyond the four
walls of their congregation.

For those who have not read an
issue of the magazine, www.thelutheran.org is a great place to start. The
website contains pieces of information from the magazine as well as
information about subscriptions. The traditional print subscription which
includes an online membership is always available as well as a web-only
subscription (click “Join Now” in the member login box and indicate that you
are not a print subscriber). Congregations are also encouraged to look at
the group rates for both print and online subscriptions for all their
members.
Also on the website is the option to sign up for a free weekly e-newsletter.
By signing up for this, you’ll get exclusive content delivered to your inbox
every week.
While online, explore the website for other features such as discussions,
blogs, and congregational study guides to go along with each month’s issue.
Another feature The Lutheran offers is the ten issues a year of
The Little
Lutheran. This separate subscription is a great way for parents,
grandparents, godparents, Sunday schools, or anyone else with young children
in their lives. The Little Lutheran is designed to help children six and
under learn about God’s love for them and the world in which they live.
