Consecration Sunday Leaders
The Plan:
Consecration Sunday is a Stewardship Program which takes six to seven weeks to complete. An outside leader meets twice with a planning group from your congregation. Two mailings about the program are sent to congregational members. The program culminates on Consecration Sunday when the leader preaches in your church. Worship is followed by a catered lunch.
The Emphasis:
There is a biblical basis to this plan. It emphasizes the need of the giver to give, rather than giving to a need. It is built on biblical rather than budget foundations. It assumes people do not like to visit fellow members solely for the sake of talking about money. The six week plan and program takes place during the Sunday morning worship services.
The Leaders:
The following pastors are trained and available as Consecration Sunday leaders. If you are ready to hear more about the plan, contact Larry Iverson at the synod office (800-426-6376 or 507-280-9457 or
). You may call one of the leaders listed below directly. A Southeastern Minnesota Synod Handbook should be in your church office for phone numbers and locations of these pastors.
