Suggestions for Building a Partner Congregation Relationship

• Pray for them at least once a month.
• Get the names (and pictures, if available) of all the staff from your sister congregation, and share them with your congregation.
• Write a letter describing your congregation's location (city, town, countryside) to your sister congregation.
• Write a letter describing your programs, i.e. Sunday School, women's groups, Bible studies, etc. Chances are, your sister congregation is just starting programs such as these and could benefit from shared program solutions and organizational ideas.
• Plan a common worship service or special day to recognize and celebrate the partnership. We have done this synod-wide, but it could also be done individually.
• Raise funds for a scholarship to send a student from your sister congregation to the Lutheran Bible Institute of Kiomboi.
• Encourage eventual exchange visits, to personalize your relationship.
